Having used both, I much prefer draw cords. Once you get the hang of keeping the cords from catching in calipers, chain etc, they are much better because they enclose the tyre better. The elastic ones need to be stretched as you turn the wheel and this is not easy and takes longer to do. If you arrange the cords neatly before removing the warmers in a hurry they don’t get caught up.
It is just a matter of practice.
